Jarrow Formulas® Vitamin D3 provides cholecalciferol, which is the form produced by (human) skin in response to UVB (sunlight) exposure and may also improve vitamin D status better than equivalent amounts of ergocalciferol (D2). Vitamin D3 eventually converted to its hormonally active form, calcitriol, in the body as needed. Calcitriol improves the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from food, aids in the production of osteocalcin (an important structural protein in bones), and supports a healthy immune response. Directions: Take 1 softgel daily or every other day with a fat-containing meal, or as directed by your qualified healthcare professional.
