FOLIGAIN® Minoxidil 5% Hair Regrowth Treatment for Men is a specialized topical product developed for men with thinning hair and androgenic alopecia (hereditary hair loss).

The formula contains 5% minoxidil (50 mg/ml) – one of the best-studied active ingredients for stimulating hair growth. Minoxidil promotes hair follicle activity, prolongs the growth phase, and can improve hair density and thickness with regular use.

How does FOLIGAIN® Minoxidil 5% work?

Hair goes through a natural cycle consisting of a growth phase (anagen), a transitional phase (catagen), and a resting phase (telogen).

In androgenetic alopecia, this cycle is gradually disrupted. Under the influence of genetic and hormonal factors, hair follicles become miniaturized and the active growth phase is shortened. As a result, hairs become thinner, shorter, and less visible.

Minoxidil affects hair follicles through several interconnected mechanisms.

1. Prolonging the active growth phase

Minoxidil helps hair follicles enter the anagen phase and prolongs the period during which they produce hair. This can contribute to the development of longer and thicker hair.

2. Stimulation of miniaturized follicles

In hereditary hair loss, some of the follicles gradually decrease in size. Minoxidil can improve their activity and stimulate the formation of thicker hair.

3. Impact on cellular growth mechanisms

Minoxidil is converted to the active metabolite minoxidil sulfate. Its action is related to potassium channels and cellular processes involved in the regulation of hair growth.

4. Promotes hair density

With successful treatment, the number of visible hairs in the treated area increases, which can lead to a thicker and more even appearance of the hair.

Minoxidil does not directly block dihydrotestosterone (DHT), but it counteracts some of the consequences of hereditary hair loss.

Scientifically proven effectiveness of 5% minoxidil

The effectiveness of topical minoxidil has been confirmed in numerous clinical studies.

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 393 men with androgenetic alopecia, the effects of 5% minoxidil, 2% minoxidil and placebo were compared over 48 weeks.

The results show that 5% minoxidil provides approximately 45% greater hair growth vs. 2% minoxidil according to the 48th week indicator used in the study.

Participants using 5% minoxidil demonstrated an earlier and more pronounced response to treatment.

These clinical results relate to the active ingredient minoxidil 5% and not to a separate trial of the specific FOLIGAIN® formula.

What results can be expected?

First 1–2 months

During the initial period, a temporary increase in hair loss is possible. This phenomenon is known as initial shedding and may be related to changes in the hair follicle cycle. Not observed in all users.

After 2–4 months

Some men are starting to see the first visible signs of new hair growth. The new hair may initially be finer and lighter.

After 4–6 months

With a good response to treatment, a gradual improvement in hair density and a reduction in visible thinning can be observed.

After 6–12 months

Long-term and regular use allows for a more complete assessment of the achieved results. The effect depends on individual sensitivity, duration and degree of hair loss.

Continuous use is usually necessary to maintain the improvement achieved. After stopping treatment, the newly grown hair preserved thanks to minoxidil may gradually be lost.

Who is it intended for?

FOLIGAIN® Minoxidil 5% is intended for adult men with hereditary hair thinning, especially in the crown area.

The product may be suitable for:

• Familial predisposition to male pattern hair loss.
• Early and moderate stages of androgenic alopecia.

Best results are usually expected when treatment is started earlier, when the hair follicles are still active.

Active and auxiliary ingredients

Active ingredient:

Minoxidil 5% w/v - 50 mg/ml.

Auxiliary ingredients:

• Alcohol – a solvent that promotes rapid drying.
• Propylene Glycol – helps dissolve and distribute minoxidil on the skin.
• Purified Water – purified water.

The formula is designed for direct application to the scalp.

Method of use

Apply 1 ml FOLIGAIN® Minoxidil 5% twice daily, morning and evening, on the affected areas of the scalp.

1. Make sure the scalp is completely dry.
2. Part the hair to provide direct access to the skin.
3. Measure 1 ml of the solution with the applicator.
4. Distribute carefully over areas with thinning hair.
5. Wash hands after application.
6. Allow the solution to dry completely.

Avoid washing your hair for approximately 4 hours after application.

Maximum recommended dose: 2 ml in 24 hours.

Using larger amounts does not speed up hair growth and may increase the risk of side effects.

Why is prolonged use necessary?

Androgenic alopecia is a chronic process associated with genetic sensitivity of hair follicles to androgen hormones.

Minoxidil promotes hair growth, but does not eliminate the genetic predisposition to hair loss.

Therefore, regular use is a key factor in achieving and maintaining results.

The three-vial pack provides a convenient starting period of approximately 90 days at the standard dosage.

Important information and warnings

For external use on the scalp only. Do not swallow.

Do not use for sudden, patchy or unexplained hair loss, or on irritated, inflamed or injured skin.

Possible side effects include dryness, itching, redness, peeling, and temporary increased hair loss. If you experience palpitations, dizziness, chest pain, or swelling, discontinue use and seek medical attention.

If you have cardiovascular disease or are taking medications that affect blood pressure, consult a doctor before use.

Keep out of reach of children. The solution is flammable until completely dry. Minoxidil is dangerous to pets, especially cats.
